Melissa M. Hackney is Counsel for Reynolds, Rappaport, Kaplan & Hackney, LLC. She has more than 20 years of experience in her practice area of business law, including general corporate law, partnerships, limited liability vehicles, nonprofit law, charitable organizations and mergers and acquisitions. Prior to moving to the Vineyard in 1996, Ms. Hackney was an associate in the corporate group of Drinker, Biddle & Reath in Philadelphia, PA, and also of the Philadelphia-based firm of Duane, Morris & Heckscher.

Practice Areas: Business law including general corporate law, partnerships, limited liability vehicles, nonprofit law, charitable organizations, and merger and acquisitions.

Community Involvement:

Ms. Hackney currently serves as a Trustee for the West Tisbury Free Public Library. She is a Director of the Permanent Endowment Fund for Martha's Vineyard, an umbrella organization that provides grants and scholarships to Vineyard causes and students. She is a Director of Vineyard Youth Tennis, which provides free tennis instruction to Vineyard Children, and also a Director of the Vineyard Haven Tennis Foundation, Inc., which maintains tennis courts for public use. In addition, she has served previously on the boards of the Vineyard Montessori School, the Vineyard Conservation Society and the YMCA of Martha's Vineyard.

Personal:

Ms. Hackney resides in West Tisbury, Massachusetts with her husband and two daughters. She enjoys tennis, gardening, hiking and cooking.
