Karen D. Burke
Karen Burke is a Partner at the firm, which she joined in 2005. With over seventeen years of experience in Martha’s Vineyard real estate, Karen represents clients in all aspects of real estate transactions, including purchases, sales, mortgages, easements, restrictive covenants, Land Court matters, and title research. She also assists clients in the creation of limited liability companies, and she practices municipal law as well.
Prior to moving to Martha’s Vineyard, Karen was a law clerk to the Honorable James McGirr Kelly of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. She was an associate at Crowell & Moring, LLP, located in Washington, D.C., practicing in the civil and criminal litigation departments, and an Adjunct Professor at George Washington University Law School.
Community Involvement
Karen was a member of the Board of Directors for Grace Preschool and the School Advisory Councils for the Tisbury School and Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School for many years. She currently serves on the Patient and Family Advisory Council for Martha’s Vineyard Hospital.
Personal
Karen moved to the Vineyard in 2001. She has two grown children, and enjoys hiking, running, and paddle boarding.
